Product Description

1. Description

JW-TSS-206(K19) online suspended solids sensor is designed for continuous TSS monitoring in wastewater treatment, sludge process control, industrial discharge, aquaculture water, rivers, lakes, and environmental water quality systems. Based on the scattered light method, it measures suspended solids from 0 to 2000.0 mg/L with RS485 Modbus RTU output, automatic temperature compensation, IP68 protection, and a 3/4 NPT installation interface.

2. Product Overview

JW-TSS-206(K19) suspended solids sensor is an integrated online water quality sensor designed to measure TSS concentration in water and wastewater. It uses the scattered light method: when a light beam enters the water sample, suspended particles scatter the light. The sensor measures the intensity of backscattered light, compares it with internal calibration values, and outputs the final suspended solids value after linear processing.

This sensor is suitable for online monitoring of wastewater treatment plants, sludge concentration, industrial wastewater discharge, sediment-laden surface water, aquaculture ponds, environmental monitoring stations, and smart water quality systems. With RS485 Modbus RTU communication, it can be connected to PLCs, RTUs, DTUs, data acquisition systems, water quality controllers, and cloud-based IoT monitoring platforms.

Its POM and ABS housing, IP68 protection, and submerged installation design make it suitable for long-term operation in water environments. The sensor is compact, fast, stable, and easy to maintain, providing reliable data for process control and environmental compliance monitoring.

4. Installation Notes

The sensor is designed for submerged installation with a 3/4 NPT pipe thread. During installation, keep the sensor at least 5 cm away from side walls and at least 10 cm away from the bottom to reduce measurement interference and prevent sediment accumulation around the optical window.

For long-term use in water, seawater, or humid outdoor environments, all wiring joints should be waterproofed, and the user-side cable should have corrosion-resistant protection. Before power-on, check the wiring order carefully to avoid unnecessary damage caused by incorrect wiring.

During calibration, keep the sensor front end at least 10 cm away from the bottom of the beaker or container. The sensor front end should not have air bubbles, as bubbles may affect optical measurement stability.

5. Maintenance Guide

The cleanliness of the optical measurement window is important for accurate readings. Clean the external surface of the sensor with tap water. If debris remains, wipe it gently with a wet soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, a small amount of household detergent can be added to tap water.

Check the cable regularly and ensure it is not under tension during operation, because excessive pulling may damage internal wires and cause sensor malfunction. Inspect the measurement window for dirt during routine maintenance. The sensor contains sensitive optical and electronic components and should not be exposed to strong mechanical impact.
